Join us for our annual free conference for charity leaders and Trustees in London.
Join us for our charity leadership conference for London - for Trustees, Chief Executives and community leaders across the capital.
This free event is at City Hall on Friday 10 November 2017, with optional morning workshops 11am-12.30pm, a lunch and networking marketplace 12.30-1.30pm and a conference session 1.30-3.30pm. We're grateful to Team London and Reach for working with us to make this event free for you to attend.

11.00am – Parallel workshops

  • Denise Fellows (Honorary Treasurers Forum) – Masterclass on Charity Finance
  • Andrew Studd (Russell-Cooke) – Charity Law and legal updates
  • Sharon Long (GLV, Hub Lead) – Charity Infrastructure, The Way Ahead and developments on the new London Hub for Civil Society.

12.30pm – Lunch

A light lunch will be provided along with a networking marketplace with stalls from Makerble, the Cranfield Trust and others.

1.30pm – Civil Society Governance

  • Intro from Patrick Vernon OBE (Black Thrive) – Session Chair
  • Ruth Lesirge (Assoication of Chairs) – issues around charity governance
  • Rosie Chapman (Charity Governance Code Steering Group) – Charity Governance Code
  • Panel discussion on charity governance and best practice and there will also be time for Q&As

2.20pm – Governance Awards Winners

  • Maresa Ness (Mosaic Clubhouse) - role of their Trustees in Mosaic’s turnaround
  • Robin Simpson (Voluntary Arts) - increasing the diversity of their Board

2.40pm – Second plenary sessionFunding

  • Intro from Rachael MacLeod (Sutton Carers) – Session Chair
  • Gilly Green OBE (UK grants Manager - Comic Relief)
  • Sara Cooney (UK grants manager - Lloyds Bank Foundation)
  • Jenny Field (Deputy director - City Bridge Trust)
  • Panel discussion about developments in charitable trust funding including: Aligned partnership funding and Funding+ models
  • There will also be time for Q&As
